My Hometown               May 8    Homework

               I am going to tell you about my hometown. I live in Osaka-City with my parents and older sister. My hometown,”Minato-ku” is in the west of Osaka-City. It is small and a little far from downtown, but  it has many good points.  First, there is a big park in which people go for a walk and have a break. In the spring, we see a lot of cherry blossom and people go out to enjoy these at the park. Because there are nice playground equipments, children also enjoy playing .  Everyone  really like this place. Of course, me too!     Secondly, my town has a very famous aquarium, “KAIYUKAN”. We can see the  big shark,”JINBEIZAME” in this. The “JINBEIZAME” is a rare shark which we see at only Okinawa’s aquarium and that ,in Japan. In addition to this,the penguins parades are held in every winter. We can also enjoy shopping because a big mall is near that.   The third point is  the Osaka Dome Stadium.  Japan baseball teams play ball there and various concert are often held .It is very crowed with people in holidays.    The most important point is that people who live in “Minato-ku” have plenty of hearts. We make much of humanity everytime.  All people are so kind and friendly.   I like my hometown and will live here .       I hope that you will visit in “Minato-ku”!

       When my father was 46 years old and mother was 36 years old, I was born. My parents worked very hard for my sister’s and my futures because they had to retire from job when I was still a junior high school student. And  they took care of my grandfather who was often sick then. I knew how they were busy and tough however I was a little girl. So,I helped them with housework. I found that it is very important to be dutiful to my parents.

 Paragraph 2

                I worked part time every day during this Golden Week holidays. Because I pay  cost of commuter pass, meals , charge of mobile phone and so on, by myself.  In addition to these, I would like to buy some presents for mother and father in Mother’s day and Father’s day. I do not come on my parents ,I can. This is my decision which I made up my mind to stick to it when I have started to work part time job.

The Control of Guns

               Human being have invented various kinds of tools which support our life. So we have to control them and have responsibilities. We generally use them in a good way. However there are horrible thing which are very difficult for us to control. They are guns and weapons. We have to think of restraint of guns more seriously.

                I have 2 main thoughts about guns.I of course know that it is very diffucult to realize my idea, but I hope that not only people in U.S.A. but also that of all over the world think on influence of it. Firstly,more strict law which ban to hold,sell and buy guns should be enacted in all states.U.S.A’s gun population is about 260 million.The population of that is 280 million. Stated quite simply,everyone have a gun except babies.They need guns to defend themselves.People in provinces particularly have this sprit stronger than urban people.There is insistence of the will of holding guns.So people withhold approval from that, without regard to campaign of gun restraint.The law about guns are different from each states.In California they are baned.In Virginia,if person has no his or her criminal, he or she can buy 1 gun in a month. I think it is important to change awareness of nation gradually and to integrate law.If it realize,they can clean up bad use and the incident won’t be happened such as Virginia’s.We should break with idea about holding weapons for show of own power.It looks like a problem of nuclear weapons,isn’t it?! Second point is about license of guns. By each states,there are various law.For example,in some states only registration is needed.In addition to this,there is a case that the age limit isn’t necessary. In my opinion, registration,the age limit and license system should  be introduced in all states.And license of hunting is also provided strictly.We have freedom that bases on regulations.

             I learned and thoght that restraint of guns,how to treat them and the present state of gun society by this opportunity.We must face each other to this problem.We accept the responsibilities about it too.That is to say, to keep thePEACE is necessary.I’m sure that it come true!

June 15                                  Women’s Work and Pay

             I find a interesting point about woman’s work and pay. Percentage of jobs held by women varied from 1970 to 1998.In 1970, working women are less than working men. But there are much employment of women now.So many women get jobs.And percentage of labor population in each kind of occupations about women and men are most equal,except of some jobs.

             I take up 3 examples from the graph.First,In 1998 the number of men who are psychologists is less than that of women.In my opinion,women is adequate to psychologists because they are more considerate and responsive than men generally.Second,at least44 people out of every 100 pharmacists,Managers and Executives are women in 1998.In addition,it is 46 people out of every 100 Economists are women.In 1970 men outnumbered women remarkably as those jobs.So these are remarkable increases.Third,In 1998 62,1% of psychologists  as opposed to 17,5% of Architects are women.There a lot of occupation which is proper for men.

               Percentage of labor population about women increased in many professions. And these approach evenness.It is very good change for women to contributeb to society.But I think that we don’t have to aim to make equal society by quantity or number so strictly.Because there is no such thing as total equality.

To Respect the Life of Past                            July 11

          I like mountain climbing and hiking.I have been interestead in environment of the earth by touching nature.Through classes,I found that destruction of nature has gotten too bad.I wonder that how beautiful nature it was in the past.For example, the Jomon and Yayoi period.I would like to see scene of former the earth.So,if I can choose when I want to live,the time in the past is the best time for me.

        The old time is the best for the earth because the life of past regarded nature very much.For example,people picked nuts and hunt animals as the bare necessities of quantity.They never wasted resources.All rubbish was decomposed in the soil in those period.People took the lesson which they were blessed with nature to hearts.It may not be more comfortable than present life.But I think importance and plesure of living to the rhythm of nature is very wonderful.The everything  which have life was shine.

            There are no problem about environment in those periods. Recently these problems are serious:Deforestation,Ozon depletion, Global warming,Ocean pollution.Our living become convenient by developing technology.Human has changed environment to live more comfortable.In those process,we have destroyed nature.But we must not surpass the limit. It is nonsense to break the earth which is basis of everything.The earth is all in all to us.

      The third reason why I prefer the past time is the problem about extinction of animals.Now endangered species are increasing.It is because of the global environment and poaching.These are due to  human’s  ego.It is difficult for animals to live in the present earth. Those troubles are causing them great inconvenience.

          We have to protect nature and the grobal environment.They are really important.I hope we recover the condition of the earth and keep it by playing in the neture and learning about environment of our earth.We should coexist with nature like the time past.We need to learn a lesson from the past.
